The Carnival in Victoria, Gozo (Malta) is one of the island’s most vibrant cultural traditions, celebrated every year in the days leading up to Lent. Festivities begin with an opening parade on the Saturday before the official Carnival week, when the capital’s streets burst into life with music, dancers, and colourful costumes. The celebrations continue with lively parades along Republic Street with satirical floats and performances in Independence Square. Beyond Victoria, various villages in Gozo also organize their own Carnival spectacles, featuring dance performances, creative displays, and plenty of festive spirit, making the entire island come alive with joy and colour.
