Welcome to the 10th International Kukeri Carnival “Starchevata” 2027!
The International Kukeri Carnival “Starchevata” is one of the emblematic winter events in Bulgaria, establishing Razlog as a guardian of authentic Bulgarian traditions and a center of carnival culture. The town has been a member of FECC (Federation of European Carnival Cities) since 1996 and annually welcomes thousands of guests and participants from Bulgaria and abroad.
At “Preobrazhenie” Square, Kukeri and carnival groups from Bulgaria and abroad will parade, presenting impressive costumes, masks, customs, and rituals that preserve the spirit of folk traditions. The event combines the magic of Bulgarian folklore, the colorful atmosphere of international carnival traditions, and the unique spirit of the Razlog region.
The official opening of the 10th International Kukeri Carnival “Starchevata” 2027 will take place on January 15, 2027, at 5:30 PM with an official ceremony and a rich festive program.
The carnival parade and group performances will begin on January 16, 2027, at 10:00 AM.
